Sailing Charter Captain, Singer/Songwriter, Playwright, Indi-Film Composer
 
In 1992, Darin sailed transatlantic aboard the 1928 Schooner Nina. For six months, he performed across Europe in high school classrooms, colleges, village streets and pubs. He then produced a televised documentary video about the trans-Atlantic crossing.
BAND OF HUMANS
In 1994 Darin formed Band of Humans and released a CD featuring 12 original songs intitled ALIVE. Band of Humans (BOH) gained regional successover the years. In an effort to expand on opportunities for original works, Darin trademarked Band of Humans and transformed BOH into an art project involving music, theater and film.. Throughout the years, Darin has had the pleasure of working and performing with many musicians, actors and film technicians. BOH still perfom from time to time these days /,usually as a trio with Darin, Louise Muller on violin and Mice Barrette on E. guitar.
THE PLAY
In 2002 Darin wrote, produced and directed his play THE COMMON ITCH. The play included the band, eleven actors and four dancers. THE COMMON ITCH was produced in three Connecticut theaters (Donald Oat Theater, Bradley Playhouse, Eugene Oneil Theater) The performances attracted extraordinary press coverage, excellent attendance, and strong feedback.
FILM SCORES
2003 Darin wrote the film score for Nightshade Productions indi-film SNOWMAN.
2004, Darin and Robert Stanley co-wrote the film score for Nightshade Productions indi-film RADIO RAGE. The release of a CD ‘BAND OF HUMANS FILM SCORE MUSIC’ followed.
In August, 2005, two scenes from Darin's Play THE COMMON ITCH were performed at the Eugene O’Neil Theatre in New London, CT.
Darin and BOH also wrote the film score for the indi-film / documentary called TRASHED. TRASHED involves the topic of Eminent Domain and the homeless. It premiered at Niantic Cinema on November 1st 2006 then follewed with a screening at the Garde Arts Theater in New London, CT on February 19, 2006, BOHumans openned the Garde screening of TRASHED with a live concert perfomance involving film images and stage actors.

2008 Currently editing a music video for the song THE CURSE OF MICAH ROOD written and directed by Darin. The music video includes the people involved with the song. Marcy Kelly Lead Vocal. Ian Kelly (bongo) Both of the Sugar Band. Tommy Keech on bells, Carl Franklin (of the Franklin Brothers) on bass drum. Tim Kelly as young Micah Rood.
The Indie film The Curse of Micah Rood is directed by Alec Aston / written by Nick Checker / starring Ron Pallilo (a brilliant stage actor, also famous for his role as Arnold Horshack of the TV 80's hit series Welcome Back Cotter.
Darin currently holds a 50GT Masters Coast Guard Captains License and does spring, summer and fall sailing charters out of Mystic CT with his Classic 1972 Ericson 39 foot sailboat, POETS LOUNGE.
The month of November Darin's a delivery captain for sailboats leaving New England bound for Florida.
During the winter months Darin's self employed as a home restoration contractor.
He resides in Eastern Ct with his famlily.
